At her Sweetener concert at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center on Monday night (June 10), Ariana Grande surprised fans -- and her mom, Joan Grande -- by singing two of her throwback tracks "Tattooed Heart" and "Piano."

While the first half of Grande's show stuck to her usual setlist, prominently featuring Thank U, Next and Sweetener hits such as "7 Rings" and "God Is A Woman," the pop star went off-script in the second half and gave a heartfelt shout out to her mom.

"It's actually a very special day: Today is my mom's birthday," Grande revealed to the crowd. "I haven’t done these songs in a couple years but... they’re mom’s favorites... She’s like, ‘Why don’t you do those songs?’"

So in honor of her mom's special day, Grande performed stripped-down versions of the Yours Truly classics, released in 2013. Dressed in a sparkly red dress and her iconic high ponytail, Grande first belted out a gorgeous rendition of "Tattooed Heart" before singing the upbeat pop tune "Piano" backed by guitar.

Joan later replied to a video of her daughter singing the first surprise track writing, "Greatest singer in the world and she sang this for me! Wow... my head is spinning... I'm so grateful for this moment... one I will never forget."
