Billie Eilish Reveals Why She's Afraid Of Whales, How She Plans to Spend Her 18th Birthday: Watch

Billie Eilish, who graces the cover of this week’s Billboard magazine, took some time during her photo shoot to play “Fishing For Answers,” as she revealed what the best gift she has received from a fan was, why she is afraid of whales, how she plans on spending her eighteenth birthday, and more.

Asked to describe her favorite piece of fan art she has been given, Eilish tells Billboard that while it is hard to narrow it down to just one, when she was in Berlin, two girls gifted her a pair of hand-made stuffed Blohshes (Blohsh being the singer’s logo).

These girls made these huge stuffed animals and one was bright yellow one was bright green, they were so cute,” the 17-year-old says. “I have them on my bed still. One of them's head just fell off.”

As for what her biggest fear is, Eilish confesses that she is terrified of people she loves dying. “That's like, all I think about all the time,” she says. “I think that's probably my biggest fear is losing the people around me. I'm not afraid of death, but I'm afraid of people I love dying.”

She adds that she is afraid of the ocean, as well, noting that whales and the sounds they make are “fucking creepy as hell.”

Speaking of her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? debuting at No. 1, Eilish confesses that she didn’t really care much about the chart placement at first. “I think I got [the news] in a text in a group chat from my label team, my managers and stuff. And I didn't really care at all,” she says with a laugh. “But it's just because you can't hold that in your hand, you can't touch that. But then over time, I feel like it sunk in, and it's been the craziest feeling.”

In the interview, Eilish is also posed with the question of how she hopes to celebrate turning 18. “I'm trying to go on a vacation alone, for like a week,” she replies. “I love my family, though, so it's not like I don't want be with them. I just want to be alone for a little bit. Like five days. With my security guard, though. 'Cause I can't go anywhere without him!”
