7-Year-Old Celine Dion Fan Surprises Crowd With Stunning Performance Of 'I Surrender': Watch
Celine Dion gave a 7-year-old fan named Anjali Singh the spotlight during a recent show at her Las Vegas residency.
In a video, Dion is seen telling Singh to “sing for The Colosseum of Las Vegas,” with Dion kneeling atop the stage while Singh stands below. Wearing a bedazzled jacket and a unicorn headband, Singh masterfully hits every note of Dion’s “I Surrender,” causing the French singer to stand up and clap.
“Thank you!” Singh smiles toward the applauding crowd.
Dion then gives Singh a kiss on the cheek as she hugs her, saying, “You are the best, you go back and go be winning.” She repeatedly thanks the smiling little girl and sings a bit of Alicia Keys’ “Girl On Fire” to her.
In an endearing moment, Singh even showed off her own inner diva, signing a note she made for the iconic singer (who said she wanted her autograph because “if she goes back to America’s Got Talent maybe she’ll win”).
“She writes her name first, she says,” Dion told the audience. “She doesn’t care because, you know why, she’s right.”
Her mother told the TODAY Show that the chance encounter took place after her daughter wrote the note for her idol, Dion, as they sat near the stage.
“This was not pre-planned at all," Anitha Singh told the TODAY show. “Anjali’s dream has always been to sing with her or to her. She would love to be like Celine Dion. That’s her dream, to be just like her.”
Singh has actually already auditioned for AGT, with her mom detailing that she has begun to pursue her dream to be a singer by performing the national anthem at local high schools and at UCLA and USC sporting events. She is also scheduled to perform at Stanford and at a Washington Wizards NBA game.
