Update: a spokesperson tells Billboard that the singer shared a throwback video -- not new footage -- from a past session in the studio.

Justin Timberlake posted a brief video on Monday (March 11) in which he and frequent collaborator producer Timbaland huddle around a mic for some spirited, sycopated handclapping over a moody beat that ends with them laughing and slapping hands.

JT didn't provide much context for the short clip, writing only, "Happy Birthday to my brother @timbaland!!! More claps that slap soooooon come!!!!!" Timbaland (born Tim Mosley) turned 47 on Sunday.

The dynamic duo, who've had a close relationship during JT's entire solo career, reconnected on Man of the Woods.

Happy Birthday to my brother @timbaland!!! More claps that slap soooooon come!!!!!
