Noah Kahan unveiled his soaring new folk-pop single “Mess” and announced tour dates supporting James Bay in North America and Dean Lewis in Europe and the U.K.

Kahan’s midtempo track has inticing synth-pop sounds accompanied by nostalgic lyrics about going back in time. “I'll move back home forever, I'll feed the dogs and I'll put all/ My pieces back together where they belong/ And I'll say I'm a mess, I'm a mess/ Oh god, I'm a mess.”

In a press release about the song, Kahan says he wrote “Mess” last fall. “My life has taken a 180-degree turn,” he said. “I’m on a very different path than what I thought I would do. I get nostalgic for the locale where I grew up because the scenery is so beautiful. Going from this to bigger cities and tours is crazy for me. The truth is -- regardless of where I’ve gone -- my parents still yell at me to pick up the dogs’ shit when I’m back home.”

The Vermont native is also gearing up to tour North America as James Bay’s supporting act, which kicks off in March, and will make stops in Nashville, NYC and Los Angeles. He will also head out with Dean Lewis in Europe and the UK in April.
