Mogli Mourns a Lost Love in 'Another Life' Video: Exclusive

German singer-songwriter Mogli has released the evocative video for her new single “Another Life,” premiering exclusively on Billboard today (Feb. 15).

In the clip, Mogli dances lyrically around an empty apartment while pining for the one that got away. “In another life, this could have been/In another life, I let you in/But this was never/This was never happenin’,” she sings as memories -- or are they daydreams? -- of a lost love flash across the screen.

The song is the lead single off Mogli’s upcoming EP Patience, which is set to be released on March 22.

“‘Another Life’ is about the split second when you look into someone’s eyes and suddenly wonder, ‘How would our lives look like if we were together?’” the singer tells Billboard. “It's an innocent glimpse into something that will never happen or shouldn’t happen.”

According to Mogli, the meaning behind the melancholic visual was purposely left up to interpretation. “It's up to the viewer if they want to believe the love story in the music video is happening in my head only,” she says, “as some sort of continuation or enactment of the split second. Or if it happened and I'm hurting because it shouldn't have and I lost it.”
