Smokey Robinson to Perform at Aretha Franklin Tribute Concert

The Recording Academy announced yesterday (Jan. 9) that Smokey Robinson will perform at “Aretha! A GRAMMY Celebration For The Queen Of Soul” on Jan. 13.

The Motown legend and childhood friend of Franklin’s is the latest addition to the all-star list of performers set to commemorate the soul singer’s legendary career.

Fellow GRAMMY award winners and nominated artists set to go on stage are Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, Alessia Cara, Kelly Clarkson, Common, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Patti LaBelle, and BeBe Winans as well as current GRAMMY nominees Brandi Carlile, Chloe X Halle, H.E.R., Janelle Monáe, and SZA.

The live concert will tape Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. PT at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The special will be broadcast later in 2019 on the CBS Television Network. Tickets for this live concert at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on Jan. 13 are on sale now via AXS.com.
