If you're like a lot of Americans, you spent the Thanksgiving holiday weekend wrestling with strands of Christmas lights, untangling them and replacing bulbs to find just one that works. Or, if you're like a huge Taylor Swift fan who lives in Topeka, Kansas, you strung up the lights and timed them to the strains of that Xmas classic "Ready For It."
According to The Wichita Eagle, the 30-minute long display has gone viral and people can't get enough of it. "It's like a precursor to the show itself," Topeka resident Louie Cortez told the paper about the beginning of the show, which opens with flashing lights and the question "Are you ready for it?" The whole house pulses, blinks and flashes to the strains of the song, flashing a rainbow of colors and shapes perfectly timed to the hit single's rhythms.
"Those who see if for the first time aren't sure what to expect, so it's like a teaser for the rest of the show." Cortez said the show as inspired by the first show he ever went to: Swift's Reputation gig at Kansas City's Arrowhead stadium earlier this year. "I saw the stage in my mind and what I could do with the lights... so I thought it'd be really cool to program (the Christmas lights) to it."
