Loren Gray Debuts Glossy, No-Nonsense Single 'Kick You Out': Listen

Loren Gray

Loren Gray tries to overcome a difficult breakup on her uber-catchy new single "Kick You Out," out today (Nov. 16).

Working with songwriter/producer Ido Zmishlany (Shawn Mendes, Demi Lovato), the YouTube-star-turned-musician expresses her heartbreak in lyrics set to a catchy melody and upbeat bassline. The song's contrasting vibe effortlessly shows the true highs and lows that come from being in love.

"Haven't even seen you since our falling out/been like seven months since we kicked it now/I just need to kick you out of my head," Gray sings, determined to look forward. Indeed, "Kick You Out" is about "trying to forget about someone,” as Gray explains in a statement. "I was feeling really vulnerable, and the song came right from my heart." The track was released alongside a Jake Wilson-directed visual, with the treatment written by Gray.

"Kick You Out" comes as the second release after Gray shared the equally bubbly "My Story" earlier this year.
