Shawn Mendes performs on day three of the Austin City Limits Music Festival's second weekend on Oct. 14, 2018 in Austin, Texas.

“Do you got plans tonight?” Because either way, you should check out Shawn Mendes’ new Spotify Singles collection. The 20-year-old pop singer dropped an emotional cover of Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” and an acoustic guitar-driven version of his hit “Lost In Japan” on Wednesday (Nov. 14).

Mendes previously released a version of “Use Somebody” combined with his 2016 hit “Treat You Better” on his live MTV Unplugged album in 2017. The newly recorded version of the 2008 rock ballad is relaxed, with Mendes’ smooth voice dripping with emotion.

The silky “Lost In Japan” rendition is similarly soaked in chill vibes. Without the heavy drum beat of the original behind him, Mendes’ velvety vocals shine through in the stripped-down version of the single yhat was released earlier this year.
