Halsey is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in.

Sending a powerful message of strength to all women (and men), the singer made her voice heard at Glamour's 2018 Women of the Year Summit on Sunday (Nov. 11) with the debut of a poem titled "An Inconvenient Woman."

In all its candidness, the compelling poem contemplated the undeniable differences between men and women in the workspace and at home, touching on topics of depression, gender roles and, as the title suggests, being "an inconvenient woman."

Halsey conveyed the idea that the same qualities that make society consider a man to be a “genius,” cause a woman to be labeled as an "inconvenience." She candidly narrated a series of situations in a woman's life where females are either seen as less capable than men or supposed to do whatever pleases their partner.

"You were not put on this earth to make everybody else’s life easier. So please, be inconvenient," the 24-year-old said.
