Christine and the Queens, "The walker"

Christine and the Queens unveiled a cinematic video for the moving track "The Walker," off highly-acclaimed album Chris, Thursday (Nov. 8).

The French singer walks down an empty road, traveling through different landscapes before reaching a desolate town filled with strangers who do not take kindly to her entrance. Indeed, the stunning visual feels as if it could be a slice taken from a longer film.

"I am out for a walk/ And I will not be back 'til they're staining my skin," Chris sings during her journey, "This is how I chose to talk/ With some violent hits, violent blossoms akin/ Every night I do walk/ And if they're looking down I'm offering my chin."

Toward the end of the video, Chris encounters a black bull that follows her into the sunset.

"The Walker' is about the audacity of someone wounded. By exposing the wounds you can hurl yourself against violence before you are killed by it," Chris (real name: Héloïse Letissier) shared of the song in a YouTube interview with Colin Solal Cardo.
