Allie X Longs to Be 'Girl of the Year' on Her Newest Single: Listen

Vijat Mohindra
Allie X

Ahead of the release of her second studio album, Allie X dropped "Girl of the Year" on Friday (Oct. 26). The singer took to Twitter on Wednesday to tease an 11-second clip of the track before premiering the song in full. Super Sunset, Allie X's sophomore effort, is set to release on Monday.

The glimmering, synth-pop-infused track sees Allie X in a fling in which she struggles to maintain her interest's attention. Though she realizes its inevitable, she fights to be the girl of the year in spite of it being obvious another girl is in line to take her place.

"Girl of  the Year" is the fifth song that the songstress has released from the upcoming project, following "Focus," "Not So Bad In LA," "Science" and "Little Things."
