Shawn Mendes gets really gone in the video for "Lost in Japan." The clip, which dropped on Thursday (Oct. 25), blends the original version of the track from Mendes' self-titled third album along with the Zedd remix and pays homage to the classic Sofia Coppola film Lost in Translation. Mendes inhabits the role of Bill Murray's sad sack businessman Bob Harris (albeit much younger and with a way more chipper attitude), while 13 Reasons Why star Alisha Boe plays his pink-wigged Charlotte.

Zedd makes a brief cameo in a karaoke bar in the Jay Martin-directed video, which peaks with Mendes and Boe bonding at the bar in between shots of the singer jamming in an elevator, shooting a whiskey commercial and sitting alone in his hotel room overlooking Tokyo.
