Justin Timberlake has postponed his Madison Square Garden Show set for Wednesday night (Oct. 24) due to severely bruised vocal cords.

"I'm gonna make this up to you and the new show will be on my birthday, January 31. More info to come. Again I'm so sorry to do this, but excited to see you soon. Love, J," Timberlake wrote in a message posted to Instagram.

Timberlake will be turning 38 on Jan. 31.

Vocal cord bruising happens when one or more blood vessels ruptures in the vocal cords. This can be caused by intensive voice use. Timberlake has been busy performing on his ongoing Man of the Woods Tour, including a previous show at Madison Square Garden this week on Monday night.
