Little Mix and Nicki Minaj Crush Cliches With 'Woman Like Me': Listen

Little Mix dropped “Woman Like Me” featuring Nicki Minaj on Friday (Oct. 12). The British girl group released a lyric video the same day.

The female-empowering lead single asks whether a man could fall in love with a woman who isn’t the stereotypical "good girl," suggesting that being your own person is more important. The lyric video expands on this theme.

“I always say what I’m feeling/I was born without a zip on my mouth,” Jesy and Leigh-Anne begin. “My momma always said, 'Girl, you're trouble' and/And now I wonder, could you fall for a woman like me?” Jade and Perrie then ask. The chorus answers this question with a resounding yes.

In the accompanying lyric video, vintage girl-centered illustrations flash by, followed by dated footage of a pageant show. The second verse is similar in theme, depicting what “perfect” girls look like in the form of a 1950s housewife and old-time movie star.

Minaj adds a touch of sass to the third verse, asserting, "Uh, a million I'm getting my billy on/Greatest of all time, 'cause I'm a chameleon."
