Alessia Cara released her new single "Trust My Lonely" on Friday and premiered a color-riddled video to accompany it. The new track follows lead single "Growing Pains" from her forthcoming sophomore album, The Pains of Growing.

Throughout the video, Cara dances in front of a large series of differently colored backdrops. As was the case in her "Growing Pains" visual -- and for many recent live performances -- the 22-year-old songstress dons an oversize suit. In a Today show appearance last month, she opened up about the look.

"It's like an artistic way of symbolizing the idea of growing up," she said. "Sometimes you kind of feel like you're drowning and you feel like you're not ready for the roles life throws at you, so this was my way of symbolizing it in an artistic way."

Cara also recently finished a brief college speaking tour, visiting four different campuses to discuss her music, process and personal story of growth as an artist and young woman. She made stops at the University of Miami, the University of Central Florida, Georgia State University and the Detroit Institute of Music Education.
