Tom Morello has joined forces with Portugal. The Man and Whethan for a new single called “Every Step That I Take,” which intends to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Morello, The Prophets of Rage guitarist, was inspired to create the song after Chris Cornell’s suicide last year. In order to shed light on mental health issues, Morello partnered with the suicide prevention organization called SAVE-Suicide Awareness Voices of Education.

“With the passing of Chris over a year ago, and the momentum towards removing the stigma from mental health issues and suicidal thoughts, it was very important to have a song from that point of view," Morello told the Chicago Tribune

“Every Step That I Take” is off of Morello’s upcoming album The Atlas Underground, to be released on Oct. 12.
