Sam Smith's vocal cords are on the mend following what was apparently a "scare" of an incident before his iHeartRadio Music Festival set in Las Vegas.

The "Stay With Me" singer dropped off the festival bill last minute due to "unforeseen circumstances" before his scheduled performance on Friday (Sept. 21), and a quick meeting with his voice doctor has assured Smith that everything's fine -- but that he needs to ease up on his commitments and relax before kicking off the Asian leg of his world tour.

Smith explained his sudden departure from Vegas to his fans on Twitter, saying that "after last night’s scare in Vegas, everything is luckily ok." He doesn't go into specifics about what the "scare" entailed, exactly, but posted a photo of himself visibly relieved in the doctor's office with a heartfelt apology.

Smith's Asian tour kicks off on Oct. 2 in Singapore. Read Smith's message in full below.
