Come on, vogue, let your body move to the music.
Calvin Harris and Sam Smith pay homage to voguing and New York's iconic ball culture in the glitter-splashed video for "Promises." The clip, which dropped on Tuesday morning (Sept. 4) opens with some dancers talking about the sense of relief and acceptance they get on the dancefloor, before it segues into images of Smith singing in a disco ball-lit room. The Emil Nava-directed visual opens with a dancer explaining, "It's just like that let go, of like, not having to be somebody that I don't want to be at that time."
The joyous video spotlights classic vogue culture and features a cameo from model Winnie Harlow, who walks a catwalk with some of the dancers at a fantasy disco. The song, written by Harris, Smith and Jessie Reyez, follows Harris' high-flying hit with Dua Lipa, "One Kiss."
