Watch Ed Sheeran Recall Writing 'Don't' in Just 2 Hours in 'Songwriter' Documentary Clip: Exclusive

The intimate doc premieres Tuesday on Apple Music.

Ed Sheeran's upcoming documentary Songwriter drops Tuesday via Apple Music, and Billboard is premiering an exclusive clip. The intimate doc -- which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in the spring -- follows the singer-songwriter over a 10-year period, leading up to the creation of his chart-topping album Divide.

Shot by Sheeran's cousin and close friend Murray Cummings, the documentary incorporates never-before-seen footage from the Grammy winner's childhood and moments with collaborators Benny Blanco, Amy Wadge, Johnny McDaid, Foy Vance, Ryan Tedder and Julia Michaels. Showcasing Sheeran's prolific talent for songwriting and charming vulnerability, the story follows his creative process and the moments that have resulted in hits we know and love.

In the exclusive clip above, we meet the documentary's director and discover that Cummings first followed Sheeran's songwriting process from start to finish when he and Blanco crafted the hit song "Don't," from 2014's x (Multiply) album, in just two hours.

"I'm never like in a mood for longer than a day," Sheeran tells the camera of his songwriting process. "But in that day, if I happen to write a song, that song exists forever."

Watch Songwriter exclusively on Apple Music starting Tuesday and watch the exclusive first look above.
