Ariana Grande detailed how she first met Pete Davidson and how he proposed to her during a visit to the Zach Sang Show to promote her latest album, Sweetener.

After showing off her beautiful new engagement ring to guests in the audience, and jokingly confirming that Davidson is "always high," Grande recalled first meeting her fiancé while hosting Saturday Night Live in 2016.

"My first time on the show was his first time on the show," Grande said, noting that she soon developed a crush on the comedian, especially after spotting his Harry Potter Deathly Hallows tattoo.

The two had a brief encounter while Grande was preparing for the hosting gig, and visited Davidson and his writing partner for joke ideas. "I was listening to him pitch me ideas and i was, like, 'Oh, my God.' I thought he was super dope," she recalled.

Grande also detailed Davidson's simple marriage proposal. "We were hanging out and he had a ring and he just asked me. He didn't get on a knee or anything, thank God," she said.

Later, the singer said she doesn't consider herself the "traditional" type and never imagined herself getting married. "I never wanted that. I was like f--- that, there's no point. I understood it when it was with the right person."

Grande says she and Davidson are currently planning their wedding, but wouldn't give out any details just yet. "We're waiting but we're planning and I'm not going to anybody nothing," she said. "I don't want to tell anyone anything until it's done."
