Liam Payne Announces Debut EP 'First Time'
It drops on Aug. 24.
After dropping a string of hit singles, Liam Payne announced on Thursday night (Aug. 16) that he's ready to unleash his debut EP. The effort, First Time, will be released on Aug. 24, and you can pre-order the title track featuring French Montana now.
Payne also posted an emotional letter to fans explaining why the EP is coming out before his full-length debut solo album, which he says he finished a while ago. "As you may know, the last few months have seen some big changes for me," he wrote. "I looked at some of the songs on my album which were done a while ago and they felt from another age. I'm determined for my debut album to truly represent me. I'm now back in the studio working hard to finalise the final few new songs on the record -- I'm genuinely excited about the music I'm writing and recording and I can't wait for it to be ready for you all."
In the meantime, he's offering Payniacs the EP, which he said he's "really proud of." While Payne didn't specify the "big changes," the singer broke up with Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy in July after two years of dating and the birth of their son, Bear, in March 2017.
The full track listing for the EP can be seen below.
Since One Direction announced their hiatus in January 2016, Payne has released a string of singles, including "Strip That Down" with Migos' Quavo, "Get Low" with Zedd, "Bedroom Floor," "For You" with Rita Ora and "Familiar" with J Balvin.
