According to a press release announcing the tour, "This will be the ?rst time in 4 years that the trio has performed together, introducing new music from solo projects as well as coming together performing the Danity Kane Hits we all know and love."
The upcoming outing will feature Richard's solo material, as well as music from O'Day and Bex's duo project, Dumblonde, which released a self-titled debut in September 2015; a second Dumblonde album is due out this year and fans can expect to hear some new tunes on the road, including their most recent single, "White Hot Lies." The shows will end with all three women performing together. No dates or venues have been announced yet, though the cities the women will be hitting are listed below.
Not on board this time are O.G. members Wanita Woodgett and Aundrea Fimbres. The reunion tour is just the latest soap opera twist in the reality show group's drama-filled history, which began in 2005 when Diddy pulled them together as part of the third season of his MTV show Making the Band. The group's self-titled debut was released on Bad Boy Records in 2006, spinning off the hit singles "Show Stopper" and "Ride For You," followed by their second album, 2008's Welcome to the Dollhouse.
Following tensions, Diddy booted O'Day and Woodgett in 2008, with the remaining trio calling it quits a year later. All but Woodgett were on board for a 2013 reunion tour, though Fimbres left again just as the outing kicked off in May. By the next year the second version of the group, dubbed DK3, released a self-titled album and single, "Lemonade," but soon enough that re-boot was broken up due to renewed tensions between O'Day and Richard.
"We have been through a journey of a lot of ups and downs but on any journey, ya know, it requires the people involved to not be willing to let go of each other and that's what we're on so, we're super grateful to be back in each other's lives," O'Day told E! News. "To have survived the last round and truly come together as sisters and do it for ourselves and also for the fans."
Richard told E! that the reunion came after some serious soul-searching. "The conversations started because I think Aubrey and I wanted to touch base cause we hadn't in a long time and I think we both, ya know, had feelings of feeling like we needed to have that conversation," she said. "We're sisters at the end of the day and I think if you go through life you still remember like I really want a relationship with these girls even though you go through things, you really want that comradery and so Aubrey and I had a great conversation."
