Peter Bjorn and John

Peter Bjorn and John announced on Wednesday (Aug. 8) that their eighth studio album, Darker Days, is set to be releases on Oct. 19. The Swedish indie group will also return to the U.S. for a set of tour dates, in addition to a previously announced European leg.

Darker Days takes a stripped-down approach, reflecting on each member's take on darkness, according to a press release. Peter Morén, Björn Yttling and John Eriksson each showcase their unique writing styles, while maintaining the sound and chemistry of a band that has played together for twenty years.

The album's themes include "Peter tackling what’s happening in the world right now, Bjorn delving into relationship issues and John, the most existential, exploring the shadows of our own psyche," per the release.
