Janet Jackson attends the 2018 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 20, 2018 in Las Vegas.

On Wednesday (July 4), Janet Jackson took to Instagram to thank her fans for their support following the death of her father Joe Jackson, who passed away on June 27 of pancreatic cancer.

In the post, the pop star said that it has been a rough week but that, "We're excited, I'm excited. We cannot wait to see you. And it's been too long. I miss you guys way too much. I'm about to jump on this plane and start this tour."

Jackson, who will headline the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans on Sunday (July 8), had some trouble finishing the video due to her young son, Eissa Al Mana, demanding attention while his mom was filming. Although the 19-month-old isn't seen in the clip, he can be heard asking to be picked up as Jackson films the video.

Fans hear footsteps in the background belonging to Eissa and the video ends with Jackson saying, "Ok, I'll pick you up baby," before signing off the video with, "Love you, bye." After Essence, Jackson will resume her State of the World tour with a stop in Austin, Texas, at the Austin360 Amphitheater on July 11.
