Christine and the Queens featuring Dam-Funk perform "Girlfriend" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on June 12, 2018.

Christine and the Queens performed their new Dam-Funk assisted single “Girlfriend” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday (June 12), lighting up the Studio 6B stage.

The French singer, who was born Héloíse Létissier and goes by "Chris" these days, was dressed in a simple tank top with a red ribbon dangling from high-waisted jeans. Létissier led a tightly-choreographed performance of the funky single and grooved along completely in sync with several backup dancers to make for a completely captivating performance.

Dam-Funk made a special appearance, shredding away on his key-tar, as Létissier danced alongside him in the track’s final moments.

Christine and the Queens released the enchanting music video to “Girlfriend” back in May. The video is a thrilling amalgamation of American pop culture, with Létissier incorporating tight choreography from both West Side Story and Michael Jackson's "Thriller", as well as a cue from 1930’s photographer Charles Ebbets. The single is the first since the singer’s highly successful 2015 self-titled debut.
