ROZES & Nicky Romero Take It Way Back in the Video for 'Where Would We Be': Exclusive

ROZES is reconnecting with a time before her meteoric rise to pop stardom in the video for “Where Would We Be,” which means taking it all the way back to high school.

In the Danny Gevirtz-directed video, the nostalgia-laden lyrics are dressed with familiar spots from the Philadelphia singer’s hometown. ROZES embraces the Nicky Romero-assisted track's authenticity by sharing part of her personal history where it all began.

“This video is so meaningful and important to me because it’s painting an accurate picture for the words I’m singing,” the singer tells Billboard. “High school consisted of the highest of highs and some of the lowest lows for me, and I’m sure for a lot of my listeners as well, and I craved to show people the closest version of my past that I could.”

The video hits every emotional beat that rings true to the high school experience, from the exuberant car ride sing-alongs to the painful isolation and heartbreak of young romance. Similar to the vacillating track, the video moves quickly through the good and the bad, giving a realistic and relatable snapshot of someone taking stock of their most impressionable memories.

For ROZES, they stand as the necessary rites of passage that ultimately leads to something better.
