Korean septet BTS are back with a brand new music video for their single “Fake Love.”
Released on Friday (May 18), “Fake Love” is the lead single off of the group’s Love Yourself: Tear album. The video for “Fake Love” expands BTS’ creative narrative, rife with imagery that correlates to its lyrics -- such as the appearance of a flower that "can't be bloomed in a dream that can't come true" -- and refers back to past thematic eras. Vocalist Jungkook takes center stage throughout much of the song, running in an Inception-like hallway where floorboards fall away, desperately exploring a wall of water on his own, and eventually returning to the masked figure seen in teaser clips for “Fake Love.”
