Just a week out from the release of his self-titled third album, Shawn Mendes has shared another fresh track, “Where Were You in the Morning.”

The Canadian singer’s sincere new number dropped at midnight and follows the well-received songs “In My Blood” and “Lost In Japan,” which arrived on successive days in March.

As its title suggests, “Morning” is Mendes’ melancholy tale of a one-night stand who bailed on him the next morning without so much as a good-bye. “Where were you in the morning baby?/You didn't leave your number for me/Left me without a warning baby,” he croons. Don’t wait for the drop. There isn’t one.

Shawn Mendes follows 2016’s Illuminate and 2014’s Handwritten, both of which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and shifted a combined 10 million units worldwide. He’ll support the release with a tour that will take him to arenas all over the globe next year.
