A thunderstorm barreled through New York City yesterday (May 16), but regardless of the Independence Day vibe as the clouds rolled in, Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie was all smiles.

Decked in a white jumpsuit, Fergie was spotted looking cheery as she rode with her squad from the Columbus Circle to Wall Street on the subway in order to get to The Paley Center's annual spring gala, The Paley Honors: A Gala Tribute to Music on Television on time. One MTA customer even reported that Fergie sang along when the rider put played “Glamorous” on her phone to celebrate the unexpected presence of royalty.

Fergie also explained her dilemma on her Instagram Story: "So we're taking the subway because a tropical storm hit New York, and we had to get from Columbus Circle to Cipriani's Wall Street.. Full white suit, check it out, August Getty.”
