Backstreet Boys at VH-1 presents 'Men Strike Back' superstar concert at the Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 11, 2000.

As spring gives way to summer, many high schoolers are gearing up to have the times of their lives at prom. No dance is complete without the right soundtrack -- and YouTube has revealed what songs teenagers are putting on their current playlists: Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way," "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran, and "HUMBLE." by Kendrick Lamar are among the top songs in rotation for prom season 2018.

Separated into the categories of "classic" and "playlists made in 2018," YouTube shared two lists of the top 10 songs used in prom-related playlists. For the classic category (defined as any song made before 2000), Rick Astley’s now-viral 1987 hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" made the top of the list. Other throwback songs include "Dancing Queen" by ABBA and "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen.

The contemporary list was topped by Sheeran’s "Perfect." The British singer made two more appearances on the list with the single "Thinking Out Loud" and for his guest spot on Eminem’s "River." Lamar also appeared more than once on the list -- once for his upbeat single from 2017's opus DAMN. and again for his collaboration with SZA, "All the Stars."
