Shawn Mendes performs on March 28, 2018.

"Watch live now x," Shawn Mendes tweeted Wednesday (April 25), along with a link to shawnmendesthealbum.com. That link takes you to a live stream hosted on Mendes’ YouTube account, and while it’s not quite clear what’s going on, fans have a few theories.

At one point, the black-and-white video, titled “Shawn Mendes: The Album" -- which indicates, perhaps, that the record will be self-titled? -- showed someone carefully arranging roses in a workshop-type setting. “Flowers have been used throughout the new era so far so my guess is that they’re painting his portrait/album cover right in front of our eyes,” one fan tweeted.

Another pointed out the similarities to Frank Ocean’s live stream in 2016, which had the artist playing new music and eventually dropping a visual album. “Frank Ocean had a livestream exactly like this. In black and white and in a workshop type of area like this," the tweet reads. "Eventually music would play and then Frank came in the livestream and started working on something and it turned out to be a visual album.”

In the meantime, watch Mendes’ live video and try to figure out what’s happening:
