The British singer/songwriter is ready to take center stage.

Often found contributing backup vocals to artists like Jess Glynne and Clean Bandit, London-based songstress BB Diamond is paving her own path. The electro-pop artist has spent the past year putting her head together with an array of writers and producers. Now, she’s stepping into the spotlight with her newest single, “Man Or a Monster.”

While Diamond’s past singles like “Feeling” and “Instinct” are intoxicatingly peppy and bright, “Man Or a Monster” exhibits a slightly moodier tone. The lyrics are introspective while the sound is mellow, yet still danceable.

"This last year I've spent my time writing and working with various writers and producers to craft a fresh body of work which I'm excited to finally be releasing. It might have meant a poor studio diet of takeaways and little sunlight, but I needed to live like a hermit for a while to focus my attention on writing music which means something to me and hopefully others," Diamond says. "'Man Or a Monster' is about having the strength to walk away from something that’s not good for you and saying ‘I’m better than being treated that way.' I think it’s something a lot of people can relate to.”

For this single, Diamond enlisted Shift K3Y, who featured her on his track “Gone Missing” in 2015. Evidently the pair work well together considering the mesmerizing effect “Man Or a Monster” brings forth to listeners. Check out the premiere above.
