Maroon 5 premiered the music video for their new single “Wait” on Vevo on Wednesday (Jan. 17) after it was featured on Spotify's "Today's Top Hits" playlist the day before.

The band took an unconventional approach for the video, which features lead singer Adam Levine switching between various Snapchat face filters while singing along to “Wait” using the front-facing camera on his phone.

Levine filmed the short videos on the Snapchat app around his home, with cameos from his wife Victoria’s Secret Angel Behati Prinsloo and their dog. The frontman had previously hinted at the video's premiere and style on his Instagram account on Saturday (Jan. 13).

Earlier this year, the band explained why they were so influenced by Snapchat and why they decided to use it in their album artwork.

"We all use Snapchat, and the Filters have become a huge part of the culture," Adam Levine told Billboard. "We thought it would be funny to take some more straight-ahead band photos and sprinkle in a little fun."

“Wait” is the second single off of Maroon 5’s latest album, Red Pill Blues, following “What Lovers Do,” which was released in August and features SZA. The band also recently announced the first leg of the tour for Red Pill Blues, which kicks off in May.
