Katy Perry to Present Minnie Mouse with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Pop superstar Katy Perry will honor Disney icon Minnie Mouse with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to celebrate the animated legend's 90th anniversary.

Since first being introduced to the world 90 years ago in Disney’s iconic Steamboat Willie cartoon, Minnie Mouse has gone on to become one of the biggest and most recognizable cartoon characters in the world alongside her longtime love, Mickey Mouse, who got his star on the Walk of Fame back in 1978 in celebration of his 50th anniversary. With the honor, Minnie will join other beloved Disney figures such as Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, Donald Duck, Tinker Bell and Kermit the Frog, all of whom already have a spot on the iconic Hollywood landmark.

“Minnie Mouse is a woman of the ages and her iconic status makes her a great addition to our Walk of Fame!” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “Generations of fans of all ages have been looking forward to her seeing her bright new star.” Disney fanatic Perry tweeted out her excitement about taking part in the ceremony, calling it a "childhood and grown adult dream come true."

Perry and Disney CEO Bob Iger are set to present the lovable character with her well-deserved star on January 22 at 11:30 a.m. PST in front of Disney’s El Capitan Theatre, marking it as the Walk of Fame’s 2,627th star. Disney fans can join in on the celebration by tuning in to watch the event exclusively on the official Hollywood Walk of Fame website.
