The psychic told Hilson that her grandmother wants her to be at peace and that she needs to come back and share her musical gift. “It is sort of a comeback, because I’ve hit rock bottom a few times and I’m crawling back to walking in my purpose,” the singer replied.

In 2009, Hilson's debut album, In a Perfect World, went gold thanks to hit singles like “Energy,” “Turnin' Me On” featuring Lil Wayne and “Knock You Down” featuring Kanye West, which was a top five hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Her sophomore album, 2010's No Boys Allowed, hit the top 10 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. Hilson also had a huge songwriting career, working with Mary J. Blige ("Take Me as I Am"), Ciara (“Like a Boy”), Omarion (“Ice Box”) and more.
For the past two years, Hilson has teased new music coming on an album titled L.I.A.R. (Love Is a Religion). “Love is the one thing that requires sacrifice. There are so many similarities between religion and love,” Hilson told The Real. “If we believe this will work, then we will do what it takes, and we will be obedient. We will do what it takes to make it work. It’s religious. It’s like … you gotta be that committed to making love work.”
