Update: A spokesperson for Carter says the correct version of the song was uploaded on Saturday (Dec. 9).

After weeks of hype, Aaron Carter was super stoked to announce that his new song "Don't Say Goodbye" was finally debuting on Spotify's New Music Friday today (Dec. 8).

But there was one big problem: the vocals were missing. Carter announced the glitch in a tweet to his fans, writing "We found out there is a technical difficulty. My vocal is missing. If you like it now, wait till you actually hear it with me on it!!"

Carter said he would update fans when the problem was fixed.

A spokesperson for Spotify could not be reached for comment at press time while a spokesperson for Carter tells Billboard that the track mistakenly uploaded featured a temporary vocal and that the complete version would be swapped in soon.

The track that was uploaded is a low-key EDM pop ballad with a near-whisper vocal track and pitched-up chorus over the slow-rolling beat. "Say goodbye, I don't want to waste my time with crazy fights/ Girl you gotta let me go or hold me tight/ I don't want to say goodnight, don't say goodbye," a feathery voice sings on the pre-chorus.

The song is the first new music from Carter since he entered rehab in October following an arrest in July on DUI and marijuana charges. He's been promising the song -- the first single from his upcoming album LøVë --  for several weeks, announcing in a press release that “if there is one lesson I've learned this year, it is to not dwell on the past, but to live for the future and I am so excited for what the new year will bring my musical career and my life.”

He's also been posting pictures showing his physical transformation following treatment, including a pic on Thursday (Dec. 8) with a positive message of hope.
