All hail the lion queen.
No one, not a single Twitter user, was ready for the official announcement that Beyoncé would star as Nala in the 2019 remake of classic children's film The Lion King. More than six months after rumors sparked that the "Formation" singer was director Jon Favreau's top pick for the role, the Beyhive's dreams came true -- and subsequently, they were immediately buzzing all over Twitter.
Disney announced the news in a nonchalant tweet last night (Nov. 1), with a photo of the star-studded cast, including Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones as Mufasa.
