Watch Norah Jones Tear Through 'Flipside' on 'Austin City Limits'
Ahead of her fourth appearance on the PBS showcase Austin City Limits, Norah Jones has shared the festival's ripping rendition of "Flipside," a highlight of last year's Day Breaks. Jones' episode -- which she splits with singer/guitarist Angel Olsen -- also features her new interpretations of Neil Young’s “Don’t Be Denied,” Horace Silver’s “Peace,” and the Grateful Dead’s “Ripple.”
While the on-record cut of "Flipside" finds Jones returning to the acoustic, café-jazz feel of her earlier records, this ACL performance brings out smokier side of Day Breaks through the invigorating chemistry of her band.
Jones' new episode of Austin City Limits premieres tomorrow (Oct. 28) on PBS. The deluxe edition of her recent album Day Breaks, featuring live recordings of Jones at New York's Loreto Theater, was also released today via Blue Note Records. Check out the performance below.
