Not all redheads are the same.

When you're a redhead, it's easy to be mistaken for other auburn-haired people. And with a handful of pretty, redheaded females all doing big things in the acting world -- Isla Fisher, Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard -- sometimes even their celebs can't tell them apart. So when Fisher stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Oct. 5, the 41-year-old had a message for those redhead confusers of the world: She is not Amy Adams. Well, except when she meets Lady Gaga.

“I was at the Vanity Fair party [after the Oscars]," Fisher recalled to Kimmel. "And I was there all fancy and dressed up at the bar and schmoozing with show-biz types, and the crowds parted and there was Lady Gaga, and she’s heading right towards me. And she says, ‘Thank you. Your performance in American Hustle, Amy, was…'”

Although Gaga was clearly thinking she was talking to Adams, Fisher didn't want to ruin her moment with the Joanne superstar. “I'm thinking, 'Oh my gosh, it’s Lady Gaga. I love her so much, I don't want to tell her the truth,'" she explained. "So I just gracefully thanked her [and] bowed my head.”

But unfortunately for Fisher, her little white lie could only go so far. Gaga then wanted to talk about Adams' performance in the film, leaving Fisher caught between a rock and a hard place. "And now I'm thinking, 'I don't want to be a liar!'," she continued. It all worked out in the end, though, as Adams and Fisher's humorous ways came to the rescue.

“I look over [Gaga’s] shoulder and there’s Amy Adams walking into the party,” Fisher said. “So I'm like, ‘There’s Isla Fisher. She’s not even nominated for anything, whats she doing here?’”

For the record, Fisher is Australian and one inch shorter and two years younger than the American Adams. But if that wasn't enough, the actress also shared a PSA on the difference between herself and the American Hustle star.
