Alli Simpson Talks New Music, Friendship With Noah Cyrus & More

It’s been a while since Alli Simpson has shared new music -- 2015 marking her last official single with the Jack & Jack collaboration "Roll 'em Up” -- but she is gearing up to release two new songs next month.

Speaking backstage with Billboard at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, Simpson said that one song is upbeat, while the other is “a little slower and stripped with a guitar,” and that most of her new music is about “the ups and downs” of relationships.

“Songwriting has only been a really recent endeavor for me,” she shared. “It’s been amazing to be able to just voice what I actually have to say and explore that talent of mine.”

Simpson also opened up about her friendship with Noah Cyrus and how proud she is of her, explaining that when the two worked together on a Mudd campaign in 2015, Cyrus expressed a desire to release music, but that she was shy about doing so.

She also shared that the two bonded over having siblings in music, saying, “We always related on that front, and Miley and Cody are good friends, as well.”

In the interview, which you can watch above, Simpson also discusses her upcoming project hosting a singing competition on YouTube and her favorite fall fashion styles.
