Lights Discusses Her New Album & Comic Book, Working with Twenty One Pilots' Josh Dun

Backstage at this year's iHeartRadio Festival, singer-songwriter Lights talked about her new concept album, Skin & Earth.

The album ties in with a six issue comic book that is illustrated and written by Lights. "It's a totally comprehensive art project," the singer told Billboard. The first three issues of the comic book are out now while the remaining three will be released in December.

"[Comics] are on the forefront of talking about socials issues... I can really identify with the content that I read in comics," she explains. "I've wanted to see that crossover [between comics and music] happen... So I just decided to do it."

Aside from the comic book tie-in, Skin & Earth also features a lot of collaborations along with Purity Ring and Twenty One Pilots' Josh Dun. "He's literally the best," she gushes. "He has so much character in his drumming, you can tell it's him."
