In the wake of the disaster that struck Mexico City, Niall Horan posted a note to Twitter Monday (Sept. 25) explaining that he needed to cancel his Flicker Sessions tour date in the city that was scheduled for Sept. 26.

Following the recent magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Mexico City, the singer was left with no choice but to cancel and prioritize safety of his fans and himself. He explained, “I’m grateful for the overwhelming support from fans in Mexico. This difficult decision was made out of great affection and concern for the safety of my fans.”

Horan ends the note with a promise to be back to the city very soon, and a request to join him in donating to the Red Cross. Donate here, and read the entire statement below.
