Maggie Gyllenhaal Is 'In the Dark' About Her Mention in a Taylor Swift Song

The actress is still unsure whether the pop star's scarf was ever left at her house.

Taylor Swift’s love life garners nearly as much attention as her music itself, as fans and detractors alike strive to decode her lyrics for references to any of her famous exes. During a recent visit to Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday night, the Deuce star Maggie Gyllenhaal addressed one such lyric that has long been rumored to involve her in a roundabout way.

The song in question was “All Too Well” off 2012’s Red, on which Swift sings, “Left my scarf there at your sister’s house/ and you still got it in your drawer even now.” Fans have long speculated that the lyric referenced Gyllenhaal, as Swift dated her brother Jake Gyllenhaal in 2010. Cohen asked the actress if she still had the scarf, but unfortunately for Swifties, she was reluctant to confirm the story.

“I never understood why everybody asked me about this scarf,” Gyllenhaal said. "I am in the dark about the scarf. It's totally possible. I don't know."

Cohen urged the actress to look for the scarf so she could sell it on eBay -- or better yet, bring it to the clubhouse.
