Lenka Kripac knows how to keep her cool when an argument heats up.

On “Heal,” the first single from Lenka’s upcoming fifth album Attune, the Australian singer finds that following the middleground is the best path to healing.

“It is inspired by a difficult situation I was having with a female friend where we really had to resolve conflict in a peaceful way to move forward and save our friendship,” Lenka says. “It’s about the struggle against the fighter we all have inside us to find a gentle, humble peaceful resolution in human relationships.”

“Heal” is a feat of collaboration as much as it is cooperation. Co-written with Sally Seltmann (Feist’s “1234”), the song blurs the lines of thoughtful writing and blissful pop. The sultry and sparse intro quickly unfolds into a light, warm tune that finds Lenka tempering the heat of an argument with soothing composure.

The new track will arrive on Lenka’s upcoming fifth album Attune, which is set for release on Oct. 13 via her own Skipalong Records. It follows 2015’s The Bright Side and will mark her first release with Skipalong.
