VMA Best New Artist Nominees Noah Cyrus, Khalid, & Young M.A to Chat With Musical Mentors on Facebook Live

On Sunday (Aug. 27) at the MTV Video Music Awards, we'll finally see which rising star -- either Kodak Black, SZA, Noah Cyrus, Young M.A, Julia Michaels, or Khalid -- takes home the coveted Moon Person for best new artist.

Leading up to the award show, MTV is turning to Facebook for a Facebook Live series featuring several best new artist nominees in conversation with a musical mentor about their journey and inspiration as an artist.

The first of nominees to appear on the live stream is Noah Cyrus who will appear with her father and mentor Billy Ray Cyrus for a chat set to air live at 12:00 PST on Facebook. Other Best New Artist nominees confirmed to speak with mentors later this week include Khalid and Young M.A. Their mentors and air time are yet to be announced. 

During the broadcast of the award show, fans watching live and artists at the event can engage with Facebook's Camera Effects Platform featuring VMA-themed effects developed by Viacom NEXT

The VMAs air on MTV at 8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday (Aug. 27). Check Cyrus' Facebook video and a sample of the camera effect below.
