Secret Weapons Still on the Rise in 'Comeback' Track: Listen

Brooklyn duo Secret Weapons are ready for a “Comeback Season,” just not the kind you would expect from a band in the burgeoning stage of their career.

“‘Comeback Season’ is about hope and struggle. It's about overcoming the odds,” the band tells Billboard. “This song became our mantra while making our album.”

The latest track from the band’s upcoming debut full-length LP As The Setting Sun Comes Crashing Down On Me -- due out Aug. 18 via Epic Records -- is the upbeat follow-up to their impressive but solemn debut single “Ghost,” which dropped in June.

The newest tune is closer to the edgy pop sound that the band has developed since they broke the scene with “Something New” in 2015. Going from high school friends to full-time bandmates, Gerry Lange and Dan Rocco have since released a self-titled EP in 2016 and embarked on support tours for the likes of Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and Lukas Graham.

As the guys are still solidly on their way up, the call for a comeback may be a bit premature. Yet, with tracks as undeniably catchy as “Comeback Season,” one can’t help but to be left wanting more.

The band will be touring through the fall, starting Sept. 14 at Columbus Theatre in Providence, R.I. Tour information can be found here.

“Comeback Season” is available everywhere Friday (July 21). Listen to it in full below.
