When it comes to capturing the summer vibes, the guys from ROMES know it just takes a swanky beat, some glitter, and a little fresh produce.

In the video for Toronto quartet ROMES’ latest track “Summer Sound,” available Monday via Five Seven Music, the boys let loose in the glow of bright blue and purple lights with an endless assortment of props and freestyle dance moves. According to the band, the video’s fun, no-frills escapism was the only way to catch the meaning behind the song.

“‘Summer Sound’ is a release and escape from the depression and stress caused by an unhealthy and destructive relationship,” the band tells Billboard. “We wanted to take that feeling and direct and shoot a video ourselves for the track -- one that expressed our personalities.”

Meanwhile, the track itself is the perfect treatment to turn around a bad day with an instantly infectious groove and its “rhythm is here to stay” chorus that is just begging to be cranked up in the car.

ROMES will be hitting the road this summer with stops in Boston, Philly, and a show in Brooklyn, NY this Thursday (July 13) to celebrate the vinyl release of their debut album ROMES. The upcoming album was produced by 6-time Grammy nominee Tony Hoffer (Beck, M83), who also produced and mixed the band's debut EP Believe. Tour information can be found here.
