Watch Behind-The-Scenes Footage from Camila Cabello's 'Crying in the Club' Video

Camila Cabello had a blast making the steamy video for "Crying in the Club." How do we know? Because early Friday morning (June 2) she shared a peek at some behind-the-scenes footage shot during the making of the clip, which she called "one of the most intense, fun things I've ever done."

"Life just has its seasons, you know?" she says as the teaser opens. "Flowers can't bloom all the time and the sun can't be out all the time. It can't be summer all the time and in life there's always gonna be highs and lows." The voiceover unfolds as a mirror-image shot of downtown Los Angeles comes up on the screen, one upside down, the other right side up.

As Cabello walks in slow motion down a street in a black gown, she adds, "You just really have to allow yourself to feel it and know that you're going to get through it and it's not gonna last forever."

The four-minute look behind the curtain finds Cabello explaining how she got into character for the shoot by thinking about the person who inspired the song and practicing her vocals while getting her hair done. She reveals how she turned the pain of heartache into "healing energy and love and intensity and passion."

Oh, and we get to see her chilling in the bathtub during that scene and talking about the steamy, "Miami rave" vibe in the club where the dance portion was filmed. "Sadness sometimes makes happiness so much more meaningful," she says. "In those moments where you find that happiness and you find that healing, it just makes happiness so much more meaningful. And when you find that strength again... it just makes that more powerful because you know what it feels like to be weak and broken so you're so much more appreciative of everything when you get back up."

"Crying" will appear Cabello's upcoming debut solo album The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving., due out September 2017
